New award for Aegean from the Skytrax World Airline Awards

For the seventh consecutive year, in the context of the Skytrax World Airline Awards, the behavior of AEGEAN’s staff, as well as the overall flight experience it provides to the passenger, stood out in the company’s rating among the service categories, which passengers were invited to vote for, according to a statement from listed.

Commenting on AEGEAN’s award, Mr. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said: “AEGEAN continues to be one of passengers’ favorite airlines at the World Airline Awards and we are delighted that it has been named the best regional airline in Europe for the 7th consecutive year, setting a record. From the passenger survey responses, we find that AEGEAN continues to earn high marks for the service provided by its staff, and this is further supported by a strong passenger product offering.”

Mr. Dimitris Gerogiannis, CEO of AEGEAN, said: “For the 7th consecutive year we are proving, through an international institution of recognized value, that a Greek company can stand out, among 325 airlines, for its quality and efficiency. This particular distinction acquires greater value for us as it comes directly from the passengers who trust us every day and recognizes the customer-centric perception of our people and the effort they make every day to improve the services we offer.”

It is noted that for the 7th consecutive year and for the 8th time in the last 9 years, the company has won the award, best regional airline in Europe for 2017, from the Skytrax World Airline Awards, at the award held on June 20, 2017 during the Paris Air Show.

The final results of the survey conducted between August 2016 – May 2017 (in English, Spanish and Chinese) counted 19.87 million entries, and passengers from 105 different nationalities participated in the survey.

The survey covers over 325 carriers, from the largest international airlines to the smallest regional carriers, measuring Quality standards with 41 key performance indicators of front-line products and services that address both the airport and in-flight environments, the release said.

The basic directive to travelers is to make their own, personal choice as to which airline they consider best, which is why the Skytrax World Airline Awards are known as the ‘Customer Choice Awards’.
