The 1st familiarization trip (fam trip) from Poland, exclusively for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) industry professionals was successfully organized by the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau -TCB, with the support of Aegean Airlines from 04 to 07 October 2017, in Thessaloniki.
Nine representatives of distinguished conference tourism and incentive travel companies from Poland visited Thessaloniki for the first time and got to know the city through a well-structured but demanding program. The companies were selected and invited by Mr. Adam Marciniec, Sales Manager of Aegean Airlines in Poland in collaboration with TCB.
In the framework of the fam trip, TCB organized, exclusively for the organization’s members, B2B meetings with the participants from Poland. In 2 days, a total of 250 business meetings were held where TCB members had the opportunity to present their companies and also get to know the needs of the Polish market.
The participants were guided around Thessaloniki and carried out site inspections at the conference centers and hotels – members of TCB. They were impressed by the rich cuisine they had the opportunity to taste from eminent chefs. Their visit to Halkidiki completed their first acquaintance with the destination as a whole, enriching with the rich options it offers, essentially the experiences that the organizers can provide to their customers.
The Polish market was the first strategic choice for the realization of TCB’s first fam trip since this specific market is of high interest for Thessaloniki. Outbound tourism to Poland has been growing rapidly over the past 4 years due to the economic growth the country is experiencing as a whole. As a result, and with regard to the MICE market, there is a large increase in demand for high-level incentive travel.
The Thessaloniki Convention Bureau warmly thanks its members for their support in the organization of the Fam Trip, thus shaping a unique experience for the participants with the high standard services offered to them.
Furthermore, the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau thanks the airline company Aegean Airlines, the main air transport sponsor, as well as all its members for the essential contribution to the successful organization.
